How do I qualify or certify as a VDA 6.3 Auditor?

Multiple steps are required and the level you need is determined by what you need to fulfill - do you need to do internal or supplier process auditing, or are you looking to be an external process auditor (service provider) or do your customer-specific requirements require certifications. The prerequisites include years of experience, auditing and core tools knowledge. There is one key 4-day ID381 course, and the optional 1-day ID382 examination. How do I renew my VDA 6.3 Auditor Certification?

You should renew your certification within 3 months before expiry, and ideally no later than 3 months after expiry. You will be required to provide evidence of conducted VDA 6.3 process audits and complete the required form. The ISO 27001 international standard and the TISAX® mechanism define the requirements for corporate information security management systems.

ISO 27001 is an information management system that establishes general requirements for all companies, while TISAX® specifically defines requirements for suppliers in the automotive industry.
TISAX® is based on ISO 27001 and follows its main principles, but both standards are fully independent of one another and have some differences.
TISAX® defines what 'secure' means when applied to information in the automotive industry, while ISO 27001 allows a certain degree of interpretation.
The assessment methodology differs, as ISO 27001 requires an annual audit, whereas TISAX® requires one assessment that is valid for three years.
In terms of conformance confirmation, ISO 27001 awards a certificate, while TISAX® awards a label.
Certification to ISO 27001 is achieved by meeting the requirements of the standard, while achieving a TISAX® label is based on meeting the requirements of the assessment objective in the VDA assessment catalog.
TISAX® is globally recognized and is required to do business with all major German automotive players. All automotive suppliers and service providers who process sensitive information should use TISAX® to meet consumer and regulatory information security requirements.

How to Renew as a VDA QMC IATF 16949:2016 Certified Auditor

ACCREDITED LICENSE PARTNER OF:

Renewal of VDA IATF 16949:2016 Auditor Certification, or extension of IATF 16949:2016 Auditor Qualification to VDA Certification, should be completed directly via the VDA QMC.
